Dispelling Many Myths

There are many myths around SEO – an example is the “Google Sandbox” – i.e. new sites are sent into a pool and will not achieve top ranking unless with time. The author dispels this myth as this used to be true a few years back when Google did not have the resource to deal with information overload – millions of new pages appearing everyday. Backlinks – The author does give a good strategy on how to get backlinks through article marketing and link exchange. However, he does not cover other avenues like social bookmarking, press release and blog commenting.

Domain – another important point that is not covered in the ebook is domain optimization. A great majority of top ranking in Google search results actually have websites where the domain has the keyword e.g. typing “Affiliate Elite” will reveal in the top 10 domains like Affiliateelite.com, affiliateelite.net, affiliateelite.org

Achieving top ranking in Search Engines cannot be achieved overnight. SEO should be implemented right from start i.e. from the time the domain is chosen and setting up each webpage. Latiff’s book provides valuable information on how to structure the site for maximum internal links optimization. However Google Snatch is a great book for people who are new to the SEO checkboard.
