$43,000 since May 2007 with more than 130,000 visitors ever year. It is no surprise that his blog features in the top 100,000 sites with a ranking of 45,280.
Atomic Blogging
Alvin Phang’s Atomic Blogging is a 86-page ebook focusing on wordpress blogging. Wordpress is regarded as the best blogging platform and is used by professional bloggers. The reason why wordpress is more powerful than blogger or typepad, is that being an “Open Source Programs” there are 100’s of programmers improving wordpress source code. There are so many plugins already developed that add many features to a wordpress blog – SEO and Social tagging helps to pump traffic to wordpress blogs.
The Good about Atomic Blogging
- Atomic blogging – Starts from the very basic. He shows to newbies how to choose a niche, keyword research and install wordpress blog. He then goes in great depth on how to optimize the blog – e.g. using permalink for SEO friendly URL links.
- Getting Traffic – Atomic Blogging has a very good section about generating traffic to blogs using article marketing, blog commenting, forum posting and blog reviews. Alvin has also recently updated the ebook with a chapter showing how to get traffic from blogcatalogs.com
- Case Studies – Alvin not only reveals a step by step system to blogging but also exemplifies his strategies with some concrete examples. For instance in the section where he writes about getting traffic from forum, he gives an example of a post on warriorforum which helped him to get a surge of traffic.
- Wordpress Themes and Plugin – As a bonus to Atomic Blogging, the package comes with optimized wordpress themes with essential plugins. This will be a big boost for newbies who can get straight into blogging without having to look around for a good theme and plugins.
- Atomic Blogging Social Bookmark plugin – Tagging through social bookmarking helps to promote blogs on web 2.0 platform by generating back linking and direct traffic. The process of tagging a post to multiple SB sites is quite tedious but with Alvin’s social bookmark plugin, this step is fully automated.A similar plugin Auto Social Poster is currently being sold for $197.
The Bad about Atomic Blogging
- There are at least 30 pages just about how to setup blogs. Some of the info is really basic and perhaps the author could have spent more time on other important aspects of blogging such as “trackback”.
- Monetizing blogs – apart from making money from Adsense, Atomic Blogging lacks content on other monetizing avenues like – affiliate marketing, blog reviews, text links ads, chitika, selling ads space.
- Contradiction – Alvin uses hostgator as an example of a good web host, however in a recent post on his blog, he highly discourages hostgator.

Nice review that lets me have a good idea of what to expect. I hope you didn’t buy the package. I signed up for the free ebook and was really annoyed by a tactic he used. He makes people enter another 5 email addresses in addition to your own before sending you the free ebook.
Also check out one of his articles on boosting Alexa rankings. It’s a total rip-off from DoshDosh. After DoshDosh commented about it, he sheepishly changed some parts. I wouldn’t give this guy a dime.
Yes, I did buy Atomic Blogging and went through it from beginning to end. But i never signed up for his free ebook. I can guess from what you are describing he is using one of those viral friend generator script which is a real pain ! I guess he is getting a little bit greedy – not being happy with one
person optin and wanting another 5 people to sign up.
I did read about his Alexa article and i thought that it was excellent. But now that you have mentioned that it is plain plagiarism, all credit should really goes to DoshDosh. Thanks for pointing this out !
